Book Covers

Some book covers designed for Tulika Publishers, an independent children's publishing house.

The illustration was from the archives of Tulika’s database of illustrations. It was illustrated by Manjula Padhmanabhan.
The idea was to have it look like someone had doodled on a piece of paper and the type was to represent handwriting.

The cover was heavily influenced by the author who wanted contrasting colors and patterns. He wanted a busy cover, and wanted an image of Rabindranath Tagore on the cover as well.

The book was made from photographs taken by Bina Kak. The cover images are also photographs taken by Bina Kak put together to give you the summary of the book on the cover.
This book was a bilingual book and plenty of space had to be made for bilingual titles.
